Vacation Accidents
Vacations should be fun, but sometimes people are hurt or involved in accidents while traveling. Such incidents may happen while traveling within Massachusetts, out of state, or while traveling on cruise ships that originate from the Bay State.
Where these take place
There are many locations and situations where accidents can happen. They include traveling itself (car, charter bus and small plane accidents, slip and fall accidents), while lodging (fires, negligent security, dangerous conditions at hotels, motels and resorts), in the water (Jet– and water–skiing, boating, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, swimming, pools, hot tubs and Jacuzzis), in the air (helicopter rides, hang gliding, hot air ballooning, parasailing), on the snow (skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile accidents), on land (amusement parks, bicycle riding, ATV accidents, horseback riding, golf carts and golf courses, state fairs), while dining (food poisoning), and elsewhere.
On cruise ships, injuries and fatalities can happen due to dangerous ship conditions, excursion accidents, food poisoning, and situations that arise based on the failure of the ship crew to adequately and appropriately prepare for bad weather.
Possible injuries
Depending on the situation and the extent of injuries, vacation accidents can be minor to severe to fatal. At resorts, drowning, assaults, rapes, and other injuries can happen. On planes, bicycles, motorcycles and motor vehicles, it's possible to suffer from head injuries, broken bones, spinal cord, orthopedic or neurological injuries, among others.
